Further Examining the Impact of the NLEA on Nutrition
As vice president of global design and development for PepsiCo, and a nutritionist who is passionate about improving consumer health, I was intrigued by many of the insights and recommendations in “Unintended Nutrition Consequences: Firm Responses to the Nutrition Labeling and Education Act,” a study performed by Christine Moorman and her colleagues that analyzed firm responses to a 1990 federa...
متن کاملFurther Hidden Markov Model Cryptanalysis
We extend the model of Karlof and Wagner for modelling side channel attacks via Input Driven Hidden Markov Models (IDHMM) to the case where not every state corresponds to a single observable symbol. This allows us to examine algorithms where errors in measurements can occur between sub-operations, e.g. there may be an error probability of distinguishing an add (A) versus a double (D) for an ell...
متن کاملRasch model estimation: further topics.
Building on Wright and Masters (1982), several Rasch estimation methods are briefly described, including Marginal Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MMLE) and minimum chi-square methods. General attributes of Rasch estimation algorithms are discussed, including the handling of missing data, precision and accuracy, estimate consistency, bias and symmetry. Reasons for, and the implications of, measur...
متن کاملFurther Successes of the Meisenheimer Model
Our simple Meisenheimer model for predicting the principal site for nucleophilic substitution in aromatic perfluorocarbons is further tested on a series of recently published reactions in liquid ammonia primarily from Malykhin and coworkers. The model accurately predicts the experimental results for all of the reactions reported further confirming its general applicability.
